Angers Autumn School BIOGEO2D 2026

The Angers Autumn School (AAS) is a scientific event organized by students from the BEE Master’s program (Biology, Ecology, and Evolution), specializing in Marine Environments, Anthropization and Diagnosis (MAD) at the University of Angers, and researchers from the Laboratory of Planetology and Geosciences.

This year, the event will again focus on exploring biogeochemical processes in sediments in 2 dimensions at sub-millimeter scale using 2D DET (Diffusive Equilibrium in Thin film) gels, coupled with colorimetric methods and hyperspectral imaging. It will take place over five days, from 9 to 13 November 2026 at the Faculty of Science of the University of Angers.

During the week, a variety of activities will be offered :
– Conferences held by researchers
– A day on the field in the Loire estuary at Brillantes mudflat
– Work in the laboratory to prepare, calibrate and analyze the gels
– Hyperspectral image processing and flux modeling

The AAS 2026 offers a unique opportunity to discover and experience methods in biogeochemistry with internationally recognized specialists.
