- Abstract:
- Experiments in a sapphire anvil cell have been carried out to study the
behaviour of water (85\%)-ammonia (15\%) solutions at high pressure and
low temperature in order to understand the thermal evolution of Titan.
In situ Raman spectroscopy allows us to characterize the ice phases in
the pressure range 100 MPa-1.5 GPa and in the temperature range 130-300
K. The present study describes several cases exhibiting ice phases
different from those expected according to the phase diagram of water
ice. A liquidus of the H2O (85\%)-NH3 (15\%) solution is presented.
