Abstract: In this seminar, I will present recent results of numerical simulations of mantle convection involving partial melting, crust production and advanced rheologies. New implementations related to magma ocean crystallization, water-composition-dependent solidus temperatures, and composition-dependent grain size evolution models will be detailed.
These new models have direct implications for the self-consistent formation and preservation of Mars's crustal dichotomy and a potential
for the formation of cratonic roots on Earth and Venus. Finally, the outline of an ERC comparative planetology project (which would bring me
to the LPG) to be submitted will be discussed.
