Research interests

 

My research aims at understanding the 4D evolution of sedimentary basins and their controlling factors, form the first order lithospheric parameters, to the timely influences of the local surface environment.

Planetary and Basin Geologist, I am specialized in integrated multi-scale studies and interpretation of past basins and paleoenvironments through a large disciplinary spectrum:

  • Sedimentology and Stratigraphy
  • Geochemistry (isotopic ratios of C and O, Trace & Major elements)
  • Geophysics (AirMag and Gravity anomalies)
  • Tectonics and Structurals
  • Geologic Mapping

To apply these methods to remote plantery outcrops, I reconstruct, using photogrammetry, detailed and accurate Digital Outcrop Models of various outcrops of the Gale Crater (Mars).
I participate in developping new inovative tools, in collaboration with VR2Planets, to explore and characterize these outcrops in Virtual Reality.
